Everglades National Park is a vast wilderness in southern Florida and one of the most unique ecosystems in the world. Often called the "River of Grass," the Everglades is a slow-moving river that flows through sawgrass marshes, mangrove forests, and cypress swamps. The park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including alligators, crocodiles, manatees, turtles, and hundreds of bird species. Covering more than 1.5 million acres, it protects the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. The park can be explored by hiking, biking, kayaking, boating, or taking scenic drives while experiencing the beauty and diversity of this remarkable natural treasure.
