I love the new year because it means a fresh start - a new beginning & new memories that lie ahead. It is a time to re-evaluate our goals and items that we want to accomplish in the coming year. Shawn and I decided that this year we would set monthly family goals. Our goal for January is to read more books. This is a perfect time of year to snuggle up on the sofa with a warm blanket and get "lost" in a good book. :)

Shawn and I enjoyed an evening with our new neighbors --> Caroline, Dean, Angela & Tony. Both families moved here from Texas several months ago. They lived about 30 minutes from each other in Texas, but didn't meet until they moved to Indiana. They live on our street and we are so happy to get to know them. We got back home around 9:00 and the kids played for an hour or so. Then, we all snuggled up on the sofa and stayed awake to watch the ball drop. Mikayla, Mason, Logan & Landon decorated their gingerbread houses this afternoon. Malia decorated a gingerbread cookie. The kids decorated the houses/cookie and were ready to eat them as soon as they were done. We visited the Christkindlmarkt for the first time this evening. It was inspired by the 16th century Christkindlmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany. Shawn took Mikayla out hunting on our farm this afternoon. He has his eye on a 10-point buck that he spotted a few weeks ago. They didn't see him this afternoon, but they are going to keep looking. Deer season is in full swing! #Mikayla #hunting
